Edmonton Semicolon Tattoo Fundraiser 2015

I am so proud to be on the organizing committee for a fundraiser that we are planning in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. My good friend Carmen was the inspiration for the fundraiser and it has taken Edmonton by storm! In just a few short weeks, thousands have pledged to attend our event to raise awareness and funds for Mental Health locally.

People are ready to have their voices be heard and to be able to offer them a venue to do that is amazing. We’ve brought together people passionate about supporting those who live with mental illness and the people who love them and we are overwhelmed with the love and generosity being shown by so many.

An event like this has been long overdue for the people of our community who struggle to cope with an illness they didn’t ask for. For people who deserve compassion and understanding, instead of shame and scorn. Our event was inspired by the Semicolon Project that is currently sweeping the world, and we are grateful for their vision! Project Semicolon

We’ve also brought together agencies that support people living with a mental illness to provide information and resources in one location to help people in their journey. Our goal is to make this an exciting and inspiring day for all those that attend.

Choosing to get involved and make a real difference has helped give me a purpose and the rewards are incredible. If you would like to help support this worthy cause, I’d encourage you to check out our website and consider making a donation! Yegsemicolon2015

Thank you all for being a part of my journey and supporting my blog. I’ll keep you posted on how the event turns out!
